Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress who is best recognized for her performances in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school when her parents split up to move to Los Angeles to live with her mother. Although she was struggling financially, her 2001 debut was acting as Rachel's Room's primary character. The role she played in the role of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV movie Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her an award nomination for the Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, and she shared the Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) along with her. Grace wanted to focus on film after playing opposite Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. She was on the screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) Replays of role. Grace was back on the Lost series for the last two episodes as Shannon. Grace was a part of the show's sixth season which ran from 2013 to 2014. As a member of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager she appeared in small roles in the films of her father and was co-starring with her brother in Donnie Darko which is a famous cult film. Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal's leading roles in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, as well as Sherrybaby (a drama) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Awards. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). In the wake of her performance that was a hit as a single mother in Crazy Heart (2009), she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years she was a part of comedies and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. The other roles she's played include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller), musicians in Frank (2014 and drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and The kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal's debut as a writer and director came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama in which she won the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. She also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
